What’s Involved

Children’s University Australasia & Africa (IO) provides children aged 7-18 with exciting, free range extracurricular learning activities that can be experienced before school, at lunch time, after school and during the school holidays. The best part is that it’s voluntary, so students can choose what activities they would like to do, where, when and how they would like to do them. The things they learn will form connections to things they could potentially study later in life at university.

Validated Children’s University Australasia & Africa (IO) Learning Destinations (the places students go to participate) all have a Children’s University Australasia Learning Destination sticker in their window. When students attend a Learning Destination, they receive a stamp in their own 'Passport to Learning' which records the time they spend at any given destination. The more activities students participate in, the more hours and stamps for their Passport, and the closer they will be to graduating.

Once students have collected enough hours, they will graduate in a prestigious location, such as Bonython Hall at the University of Adelaide. In a formal ceremony, students will be presented with certificates, dressed up in a cap and gown, just like graduating university students.
